[info]queenalex and I went in to Federation Square, and then on to Birrarung Marr when we realised that we weren't getting in to it.

It was awesome.

Possibly a real update later.

Zombie Shuffle!

Most links to zombie shuffle pictures can be found here [info]zombieshuffle.
A couple of notable ones:

RAWR

BRAAAAAINS

It was a really good day, Geoff and I caught the train in and zombified my suit as confused people looked on. During the trip some other zombies joined us and we all got off at Parliament. We walked up to the Carlton Gardens just as the zombie horde was leaving and so the shuffle began. Most of the way we walked down a corridor of confused people, many with cameras and confused looks on their faces (it was hard not to smile). The walk finished at Crown where we all stood around for a while before everyone dispersed. During the walk I had drooled a mertic shitload of blood and as such I went looking for water to wash my face (the blood that had dried was uncomfortable). Geoff and I finally found it in Southgate. We then caught the train from Flinders St back to Mentone before we prepared stuff for Manol's party.

Manol's Party!

Manol's was really awesome. There was good music, good booze, and great food. I am still kicking myself for leaving before most of the chuckdances but what I was there for was a whole lot of fun.
Personal highlights include:

  • THE FOOD!

  • Attempting and nearly making a three man tower

  • Party Hard

  • Getting owned in Party Hard

  • The penis pinata

  • Scott and V sharing an intimate moment

All in all a great Saturday (and Sunday morning). Kudos to Geoff for zombieing and a huge thanks to Manol for the party.

You know those episodes in TV series where the main group of friends runs into another group that looks (and behaves) just like them?

# Open up your favorite music player.
# Put it on random.
# Open up MS Paint.
# And represent the next 5 songs either by Titles or Lyrics, (and band if it's unlikely people wont get it otherwise), by drawing it in paint.
# Of course if it's a shitty title or something to draw skip it and go onto the next song in random. As long as you're not hand picking I don't give a fuck.
# Post them on your LJ and get other people to guess them.

Quiz ensues )

I first posted this on http://www.overclockers.com.au but mang asked me to make an LJ post and I am too lazy to write stuff again, so yeah.

Animal Crossing is a great game, I was looking forward to the original Gamecube game, but never got around to buying it.

Even though most of the tasks you perform in the game are simple, there is a huge amount of depth there. The characters in your town all have distinct personalities, they talk to each other and form their own relationships in your town. You can customise just about everything (within reason) in the game from clothing textures to the 'town tune.' Your town and its animals also change according to the time of year as well as the time of day.

The WiFi aspect of the game is extremely viral, and very cool. I have played against a few other people from the http://www.animalxing.com IRC channel (#megadoomer on irc.windfyre.net) and I have ended up with constellations in my sky that originated from towns that I have never visited. You can also have a lot of fun with mini-competitions using a timer like 'who can catch the most bugs/fish within the time limit?' or Soccer (Football?) with snowballs.

It feels like I have been typing for a while but I have only conveyed the main aspects of the game. There is so much to see, do and feel in Animal Crossing that it is hard not to think about it when you are not playing.

Some pics I took while playing:

Moe has a dream where Sally is in the kitchen, hilarity ensues

Does this need a caption? Apparently yes!

It's newo in pig form!

LJ cut is for emos [03 Dec 2005|11:02pm]
[ mood | nostalgic ]

While rummaging through various crap in the attic, looking for Christmas decorations, I found this:

The evil tree-monster
They don't build them like this anymore

It is an evil tree-monster. He was probably formed when a Spanish priest fell into some enchanted vines or something similarly mysterious.

What surprises me is how innocuous his pose looks when it is placed in a different situation.

The happy family-monster
"I'll have the roast cooked by the time you get home"

He is instantly transformed into a plain old (possibly closet homosexual) house husband.

Grammar God!
You are a GRAMMAR GOD!

Congratulations! If your mission in life
is not already to preserve the English tongue,
it should be. You can smell a grammtical
inaccuracy from fifty yards. Your speech is
revered by the underlings, though some may
blaspheme and call you a snob. They're just
jealous. Go out there and change the world.

How grammatically correct are you? (Revised with answer key)

I am worth $74,998,110.53 for one night of wild lovin'! How much are you worth?
Get my worth

I have been such a quiz whore recently, so I think I might write about the only thing abnormal in my life at the moment, that being uni!
So I uh, got my enrollment letter, then I went out on the day, then I said hi to all the nice people, then I sat down, then I walked around, then I sat down again, then I got my photo taken, then I got my student card, then I talked to more people, then I went home. It was a fun day.
